Community Service is a part of the Social Studies Curriculum at MMUHS. In an effort to build understanding and appreciation for the importance of community service and to instill a sense of duty, responsibility, and commitment to society, community service is a requirement.
Students are required to participate in 5 hours of community service each semester. Students will document and reflect upon their service to receive credit. Documentation must include: Name, activity, # of hours, date the activity happened, signature of supervisor, and ½ page reflection. Community Service is due for Semester 1 on December 9th, 2011 and for Semester 2 on May 11th, 2012. Students may contact the teacher, school website, or school bulletin postings for assistance in locating community service opportunities. Opportunities may also be posted here on this blog page by any visitor.
